What inspired you to pursue a career in software testing and quality assurance, and how did you first join our company?
After working in different business areas, I understood that I like information technology and that I am good at identifying issues and defects. So, after some personal market research, I realized I want to pursue a QA career. The journey was quite classic: I applied for the position and soon got in touch with the company’s HR department.
What do you enjoy most about working with our development and QA teams, and how do you collaborate to ensure high-quality software releases?
There are many aspects that I enjoy working in the QA Team, but the most important one is communication because it is really the key here.
How do you approach designing and executing test plans, and what tools or methodologies do you use to ensure thorough testing coverage?
Analysing and understanding requirements (with the help of the Product Manager) and the product overall; defining what should be tested, defining the test objectives, and then creating the test scenarios and test cases. As a tool for test management and traceability, I am using Jira.
Can you share a challenging bug or issue you encountered during testing and how you resolved it, contributing to the success of a project?
There have been many hidden bugs, but with great help from the dev team, the fixes have been applied in time and the product has been released successfully.
How does our company’s culture and values support your role as a QA Engineer, and what do you appreciate most about working here?
The most important support the company is providing for the QA role is that the company acknowledges this role is mandatory in the product team.
What strategies do you use to prioritize testing efforts and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products?
Starting the testing as soon as possible and knowing the product well, so when the deployment is done, the testing process continues and covers all the product parts and functionality without being blocked by missing product knowledge.
How do you see the role of QA evolving within our company, and what initiatives do you propose to enhance our QA practices?
QA started to encompass the entire software development lifecycle. It will be helpful when I participate in all stages, from design to deployment, ensuring quality is built into every step. In this way an extra opinion could help in the development process.
Looking ahead, what are your professional goals and aspirations within our company/ moving forward in your career ?
This depends a lot on the company’s development. I truly wish that the company continues to grow and new roles become available.
What excites you the most about working as a QA engineer?
The most exciting thing for me working as QA is being responsible for the quality of the delivered web products.
What specifically enticed you to apply for a position with our company?
After working for a Legacy (outdated computing software) product, I felt that I can’t grow in the fast growing and changing industry. So, what I liked most in the job description was that I will work with essential Web Technologies.
